During the Party Conference season, Dods is running The Apprenticeships Forum; a series of events across Labour, Tory and SNP. Its aim is to have a collaborative movement to raise awareness and provoke policy discussion around the positive impact of Apprenticeships, some of the regulatory issues faced and to discuss what the Parties can do to support UK Apprenticeship programmes.

Rail Delivery Group

Rail Supply Group

The Rail Supply Group (RSG) is the leadership body for the rail supply sector, uniquely bringing together Government and the private sector to champion the rail supply chain.

Railway Industry Association

The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is the representative body for UK-based suppliers to the UK and world-wide railways. It has around 200 companies in membership who employ over 30,000 staff and turn over more than £6bn annually. RIA’s membership is active across the whole of railway supply, covering a diverse range of products and services and including both multi-national companies and SMEs (60% by number). RIA works to promote the importance of the rail system to UK plc, to help export UK expertise around the global and to share best practice and innovation across the industry.

Rail is a vital contributor to UK plc, moving workers and freight to support the economic growth of our cities and industry. It employs 216,000 people and contributes annually £10.1 billion Gross Value Added (GVA). It is also a growing industry with the number of rail journeys expected to double over the next 25 years and freight set to grow significantly too.

RIA campaigns on a number of issues, including proper funding of the rail industry, a strong rail ‘sector deal’ which helps the Government deliver its Industrial Strategy, addressing the challenges and opportunities of Brexit, and generating and maintaining support for major future rail infrastructure schemes, such as HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and Crossrail 2.

We are committed to our investment in the UK and particularly the communities in which we operate. We developed Eurostar’s new e320 train, currently the fastest high-speed train in service in the UK. We also recently delivered the re-signalling of the Victoria Line, which now provides a train every 100 seconds.

By the end of 2018, the Class 700 trains for Thameslink will flow in and out of central London every 2-3 minutes at the busiest times. We are also designing and installing the signalling for Thameslink, due to be completed in May 2018, which will help to provide streamlined traffic flows and increased frequency of through-trains.

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine

The College works to ensure high quality care by setting and monitoring standards of care, and providing expert guidance and advice on policy to relevant bodies on matters relating to Emergency Medicine.  It is calling for the training of additional emergency physicians to address the shortage of 2,200 consultants, improvement in systems, processes and services to allow for the timely care of patients and support for staff to enable improvements in patient care and improved retention of emergency physicians in the NHS workforce.

The College is established to advance education and research in Emergency Medicine. It sets the standards of training for emergency medicine physicians and advanced clinical practitioners  as well as running examinations in Emergency Medicine for the award of Fellowship and Membership of the College. It also recommends trainees for their Certificate of Completion of Training in Emergency Medicine.
